Defensible Space. Zone 1 and 2, or the Intermediate and Extended Zones: recreate a landscape that is naturally fire resistant, or fire resilient. Almost all North American ecosystems adapted to fire and they resist burning, OR they need fire to complete their life cycle. Learn how to use your lawn and garden as your second layer of defense against complete disaster.
